Budget Fishing Rod Roller Guides - Fishing Rod Build Tips

Want to build a trolling or tuna rod equipped with roller guides?

They can be expensive depending on the brand. Aftco and Winthrop will cost you around $400 for a set of 5 roller guides. They are excellent but will cost you some bucks.

There are other choices. There are roller guides that cost about half of that and are still high quality. These are the roller guides that I use to build Bluefin Tuna Rods and Shark Rods. They work!!

Here are the roller guides that I have used on a few Bluefin Tuna rods and some shark fishing rods. They are made from quality materials and perform well.

ALPS, Sea-Guide, Pacific Bay and Carbon Fishing. Carbon fishing roller guides are a little more expensive but are a new design and perform really well. Carbon Fishing roller guides cost about $350 for a set of 5.

ALPS, Sea-Guide and Pacific Bay or Pac Bay will cost about $150 for a set of 5.

At the top of the picture is the new technology Carbon Fishing roller guide. It's super nice and very well designed and manufactured. The next roller guide is the Pacific Bay. It's really well made and performs well and really inexpensive at $39.00 for the #4 stripper guide. The next guide is the Sea-Guide. It's one of my favorites for tuna and shark rods. I love this guide. The #5 stripper guide costs $41.00. It's very reasonable. You can go wrong with the Sea-Guide or Pac Bay roller guides. The last roller guide is the ALPS roller guide. It's also top notch and costs about $37.00

Here is the Aftco Super Roller Guide. It's about $70.00. It really nice.
