Fishing Rod Guides: Heavy Duty Turbo, Heavy Duty Boat and Roller Guides

This collection is all heavy duty conventional and roller guides. These are designed for big game offshore fishing like Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Swordfish, Sharks, Groupers and Halibut. There are guides sets listed to make it easy. If you have a 6' tuna rod, just select the 6 or 7 guide set.

All boat guides are stainless steel with ceramic ring inserts. These guides can be used in place of roller guides without sacrificing performance. The ceramic rings are diamond polished and micro smooth. Line friction is almost non-existent. Ceramic also dissipates heat very quickly. It is hard to justify roller guides on a rod with the exception of Giant Bluefin Tuna or Great White Shark fishing where you simply need an edge.

Sea-Guide makes some fantastic heavy duty XRG rod guides that feature a PVD coating and ceramic ring inserts. They are heavy duty SS 316L stainless steel with a special coating that resists corrosion and looks great. The ring inserts are Zirconia ES ceramic and super polished.

Alps, Fuji and American Tackle also make heavy duty rod guides with a similar design. All are top notch and basically "over-kill" for anything but the heaviest fishing rods. They work extremely well on 130 lb. rods.
