There are several types of fishing line, braided, monofilament, fluorocarbon, copolymer and fly fishing line. Each is designed for specific types of fishing or species of fish. Braided fishing line is best suited for saltwater fishing whereas monofilament works well for both freshwater and saltwater. Fly fishing line is also well suited for fresh and salt water fishing. Fluorocarbon is similar to monofilament in its uses.
